Abstract

Artificial lighting is considered light pollution that affects the physiology and behavior of insects. Morphological characteristics of field crickets (Gryllus bimaculatus) have compound eyes that are sensitive to specific colors. In this case, light has a major effect in influencing behavior described in two main behaviors, namely stridulation pattern behavior (singing) and movement patterns. This experiment aimed to determine the behavior of crickets to various types of light color and temperature changes in the environment as a simulation of the effects of light pollution. The experimental results showed an increase in the aggressiveness of the movement and the frequency of stridulation in blue light and when the ambient temperature increased.

Abstract

The rapid development in the field of information technology (IT) makes there many variations that are more interactive and as an alternative to avoiding student cheating when doing multiple choice questions or essay questions that allow teachers to make assessments at the end of learning materials to be more accurate, fast and efficient. Based on the results of initial observations and previous research, the factor of the lack of knowledge of mastery of technology in high school teachers will have an impact on the delay in following the development of technology and information that is so very fast that it affects the transfer of information that is inefficient and effective, especially in the aspect of teacher assessment of students. One of the applications of information technology is the Android Based Test (ABT). For the learning evaluation to run well, teachers must make a more efficient and innovative evaluation tool using the PowerPoint-based learning evaluation android application. This is so that teachers can conduct more accurate learning evaluations and avoid student cheating. Students can directly use cell phones to evaluate questions if school facilities for computer use are inadequate. The solution offered is by conducting training on making an android application for evaluating biology learning based on PowerPoint. The activity method is the face-to-face tutorial learning method with the training participants. The results of this activity showed that the participants were able to make excellent android-based applications and could function properly. Although there are obstacles, such as the participants, have not prepared various questions according to the subjects being taught. This training can provide understanding and expertise in making information technology-based evaluation tools for teachers.

Abstract

Rose (Rosa sp.) is one of the ornamental plants that are widely cultivated in Indonesia because it has high economic value. The increasing market demand and the still low production of roses requires innovation in the development of rose cultivation, especially vegetatively in the form of cuttings. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of lid closure on rose cuttings. This research was conducted on rose cuttings by giving the hormone Rhizattun F with a concentration of 500 ppm was soaked for 10 minutes. The results showed that the percentage of live rose cuttings with 2 weeks of lid closure was 62.5% while the percentage of live rose cuttings with 4 weeks of lid closure was 90%. The average number of roots at 2 weeks of mask closure was 2.74 while the average number of roots with 4 weeks of mask closure was 4.95. The average root length of the results showed that the roses at 2 weeks of lid closure had an average length of 2.54 cm while those with 4 weeks of lid closure had an average length of 8.11 cm. The average number of leaves on roses with 2 weeks of lid closure was 1.63, while that of roses with 4 weeks of lid closure was 4.24. The results showed that 4 weeks of mask closure was better than 2 weeks of mask closure.

Abstract

The needs of human life are always increasing from time to time. The increase in the needs of human life but not matched by an increase in income can lead to inequality. Various efforts of the community in meeting their needs are carried out by establishing a home industry. The home industry that is growing in the community is engaged in the food sector. The increase in the number of home industries that are not matched by increasing public knowledge in product management causes the home industry to not develop properly. The problem that is still faced by home industry players is the use of food packaging labels that are not under BPOM standards. There are 9 standards set by BPOM regarding provisions for food packaging labels including product name, list of ingredients used, the weight of the product, name and address of the parties producing or importing, halal logo for the required product, date and production code, expiration date, distribution number permit, and the origin of certain foodstuffs. The aim of this activities to improve of food packaging labels for home industry. Activities carried out include socialization, and evaluation activities. Through the results of the questionnaire given after the socialization activity, it showed an increase in participants' interest and knowledge about the topic being presented (100%), socialization participants played an active role during the socialization activity (80%), and participants had the motivation to develop the knowledge that had been given (100%). Based on the results of the evaluation, shows that the entire series of empowerment activities went well because there was a change in the behavior pattern of the home industry owner. The growth in the number of home industries, which is balanced with the improvement in the quality of home industries, is expected to improve the community's economy

Abstract

Sorus pada pteridophyta merupakan salah satu ciri khusus untuk membedakan taksonomi. Sorus memiliki karakteristik yang berbeda-beda pada setiap jenis pteridophyta. Sorus memiliki warna, bentuk, dan letak yang beragam. Sorus juga dibedakan berdasarkan ada tidaknya indusium. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian awal yang dapat digunakan untuk edukasi dan penelitian lanjutan. Penelitian ini bersifat deskripsi ekploratif dan sampel diambil dengan menggunakan Purposive Random Sampling, dimana plot diletakkan pada kondisi yang memungkinkan di area hutan lindung KHDTK Gunung Bromo UNS. Karakteristik yang diamati adalah macam-macam warna sorus, bentuk, letak, dan ada tidaknya indusium pada masing-masing spesies. Hasil penelitian diperoleh 13 jenis petridophyta yang ada di KHDTK Gunung Bromo, antara lain Thelypteris palustris, Phegopteris connectilis, Christella dentata, Shpaerostephanos unitus, Polypodium vulgare, Pyrrosia longifolia,Adiantum cuneatum, Pteris ensiformis, Pteris tripartite, Lygodium flexuosom, Lygodium circinatum, Lygodium japonicum, Pleocnemia irregularis. Sorus yang ditemukan dari hasil penelitian berwarna coklat, kuning, hitam, coklat kehitaman, putih kekuningan. Bentuk sorus yang diperoleh bulat dan berbentuk bangun garis. Sedangkan letak sorus berada di permukaan bawah daun pada tepi daun. Sebagain sorus yang ditemukan memiliki indusium. Setelah dilakukan pengamatan pada masing-masing pteridophyta ditemukan persamaan dan perbendaan sorus baik dari warna, bentuk, letak, dan ada tidaknya indusium. Perbedaan karakteristik tersebut dapat digunakan untuk mengidentifikasi kekerabatan dari paku-pakuan dan dapat digunakan sebagai bahan edukasi.

Abstract

The dynamics of cell structure and function is an important basic topic for understanding the more complex phenomena of living organisms. Cell-related learning requires means that can interpret the structures and mechanisms that occur in cells. The use of static and dynamic media is expected to increase students' understanding of concepts related to cellular material that cannot be studied directly. This study aims to determine the effect of the combination of static and dynamic media on students' understanding of the concept of cell membrane transport material. The background of the research is the unavailability of fun and interactive learning media for cell membrane transport materials. This study is a Quasi-Experimental design. The applied treatment was the use of a combination of static and dynamic media in the experimental class and the use of static media in the control class. The research was carried out on XI high school students who have studied cell membrane transport material. The instruments of this study were pre-test and post-test forms. The data analysis used is quantitative data analysis using independent t-test based on pre- and post-test scores. The results showed that in the independent t-test the significance value was 0.001; significance < 0.05, there are differences in the results of the concept comprehension tests of the control class and the experimental class, so it can be said that the use of a combination of static and dynamic media affects the students' conceptual understanding. The effectiveness of using a combination of static and dynamic media is 76.03 with an effective category.

Abstract

Cryptogamae is a group of lower plants that reproduce using spores. One of the lower plants is macrofungi. Macrofungi are lignocellulosic degrading organisms that live in humid places with a fairly wide distribution pattern in the area of Sebelas Maret University, Surakarta. This study aims to determine the types of macrofungiin the area of Universitas Sebelas Maret by using the exploration method. Sampling was carried out evenly in the Sebelas Maret University campus area. The results showed that there were 27 species of marofungi from 2 divisions, namely the division Basidiomycota and Ascomycota. In the Basidiomycota division, there were 24 species consisting of 5 orders (Auriculariales, Boletales, Agaricales, Polyporales, Geastrales) and 13 families. Meanwhile, in the Ascomycota division, there were 3 species, namely Daldinia concentrica, Xylaria apiculata and Xylaria polymorpha. The results of this study indicate that the Sebelas Maret University campus environment has a very high diversity of macrofungi.

Abstract

Pandemi Covid-19 sedang melanda dunia mulai maret 2020 sampai sekarang. Untuk mencegah penyebaran covid 19 pemerintah memberlakukan 5 M (Mencuci tangan, menjaga jarak, mengurangi mobilitas, memakai masker dan menjauhi kerumunan). Mencuci tangan pakai sabun menjadi hal yang diharuskan ketika pulang dari bepergian atau ketika masuk ke suatu tempat. Mencuci tangan dengan sabun dapat digantikan dengan handsanitizer sebagai alternative bila kesulitan mencari toilet atau tempat cuci tangan. Handsanitizer dengan alcohol 60% dipercaya efektif untuk membunuh kuman atau mikroorganisme termasuk virus corona. Lidah buaya adalah salah satu tanaman yang dapat digunakan untuk membuat handsanitizer. Tujuan dari pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah untuk memberikan pelatihan pembuatan handsanitizer dengan bahan dasar lidah buaya sebagai upaya pencegahan penyebaran covid19. Kegiatan dilakukan dengan ibu-ibu PKK di desa Pendem, Kecamatan Ngaringan Kabupaten Grobogan. Hasil dari kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah masyarakat desa Pendem dapat membuat handsanitizer dengan bahan-bahan alami seperti lidah buaya.

Abstract

Coconut pulp is expected to be used as an alternative feed with a more economical price that can be used for crickets. This research aimed to determine the effect of substitution of commercial feed with coconut pulp on the growth of crickets (Gryllus sp). This research took place in Cemoro, Ketitang Village, Nogosari District, Boyolali, Central Java from July to August 2022. This research used experimental methods and a Completely Randomized Design (CRD). There were four ration formulation treatments in the research, namely: P0 = 100% commercial feed, P1 = 95% commercial feed and 5% coconut pulp substitution, P2 = 90% commercial feed and 10% coconut pulp substitution, P3 = 85% commercial feed and 15 % substitution of coconut pulp. The feed treatment was given for 30 days by feeding twice a day in the morning and evening with sixteen repetitions of jangkrik alam in each treatment. Data on body weight and length were analyzed by One Way ANOVA at a significance level of 5%. The results showed that each treatment was not significantly different in body weight and body length of crickets (P>0.05). The substitution of coconut pulp flour into the commercial rations of crickets (Gryllus sp) can be given up to a level of 15% without affecting the body weight and length of the crickets.

Abstract

Efek nyata dari Pandemi yang berkepanjangan yakni melumpuhkan perekonomian. Banyak Usaha Mikro, Kecil, dan Menengah atau UMKM yang sedang merintis dan sudah berjalan menjadi terpuruk. Upaya yang dilakukan oleh Pemerintah guna membangkitkan perekonomian terutama bagi para pelaku UMKM adalah memberikan suntikan dana. Diluar itu pemerintah tidak memberikan ilmu yang berkaitan untuk memajukan UMKM. Kegiatan pengabdian KKN kelompok 32 UNS di Kelurahan Kauman, Kecamatan Pasar Kliwon, Kota Surakarta berupaya memberikan pembekalan ilmu tentang kewirausahaan untuk membantu memajukan UMKM. Setelah dilakukan survey didapatkan hasil bahwa lokasi tempat pengabdian membutuhkan ilmu tentang Digital Marketing yang ditujukan kepada warga kauman melalui seminar. Kegiatan seminar ini diikuti oleh 35 warga yang sedang merintis dan memiliki UMKM. Kegiatan ini menghadirkan pembicara yang sudah lama berkecimpung di bidang bisnis dan UMKM yang memiliki hubungan dengan UNS. Materi yang disampaikan seputar digital marketing mencakup bagaimana cara memasarkan produk yang dijual; bagaimana pengambilan foto dari produk yang baik; dan kiat kiat dalam menjalankan UMKM di era digital.
